Three new additions to my dictionary of impossible words - an occasional collection of phrases/words which have plain English counterparts that academic lawyers refuse to use.
- Naturalist: A doctrine based on human beings values in a "state of nature"... I think.
- Normative: Describing how things should be, rather than how they are.
- Positivist: A philosophy that states that the only authentic knowledge is scientific knowledge, and that such knowledge can only come from positive affirmation of theories through strict scientific method.
They join previous entries "polities" and "liber amicorum". "Dichotomy" won't be joining this collection on the grounds that I like how it sounds.
